While the summer season is approaching, there’s more opportunity to live our lives again fully. On March 1, NCR was placed under Alert Level 1—the first time in nearly three years. Establishments are fully operational, which means more places to go, people to see, and, of course, outfits to wear.

So, if you’re ready to give your loungewear a breather, here are options you can buy to brighten up your wardrobe. After all, it’s high time to get out of the sweats and into clothes you want to be seen in.

Here are four imaginative brands that can inspire you to dress up again. These luxury houses embrace individuality, unconventionality, and the beauty of freedom.

Dries Van Noten

The Belgian designer has always had an avant-garde aesthetic. A member of the Antwerp Six (a group of six famed designers from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts from class 1980 to 1981), he’s known for collections inspired by historic and ultramodern art.

Although avant-garde fashion might not appeal to minimalist wardrobe owners, Van Noten makes pieces in vibrant shades with highly wearable silhouettes.

Marni

Francesco Risso’s, Marni’s creative director, design can be described as psychedelic. When he was appointed as its head designer in 2016, Risso introduced exuberant prints and fabric development. He told AnOther that the Milan brand’s founder, Consuelo Castiglioni, always kept the brand atypical.

“And that made Marni more special and unique,” Risso said. “The brand has freedom at its core.”

Maison Margiela

Of course, a brand helmed by whimsical designer John Galliano makes this list. Since 2014, the British creative director has sustained Margiela’s “sense of spectacle”—the brand’s ethos. With inspiration from folk horror stories and art, Galliano makes collections he describes as “confrontational, grotesque, impactful, and modern.”

After all, when the brand’s founder Martin Margiela handed Galliano his post, he said, “make it your own.”

Diane von Furstenberg

The Belgian-American designer is known for inventing the classic wrap dress in 1974. Diane von Furstenberg, or simply DVF, has her eponymous label stand for “effortlessness, optimism, and sensuality.”

You can consider getting one of her colorful wrap dresses for a hardworking piece suitable for many plans.
