According to Pantone, it’s the “happiest and warmest of all the blue hues.”

Pantone, the forecaster of global color trends and professional color language standards provider, has introduced the new shade Very Peri as the 2022 Color of the Year. In previous years, the institute selected existing shades (like Classic Blue in 2020 and Living Coral in 2019), but now they’ve introduced a brand-new hue.

Laurie Pressman, the vice president of Pantone’s Color Institute, says that Very Peri’s creation ”reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that color can hope to answer.”
