Vera Wang in Manila Welcomes New Beginnings With Iconic Bridal Gowns

In weddings, the bridal gown is an essential element of the plans for the special day. Every bride who is also a fashion-enthusiast knows the value of wearing a Vera Wang to her Big Day. This month in Manila, Vera Wang Bride at 8 Rockwell welcomes its third year on “New Beginnings.” The designer presents its collection of iconic wedding dresses. From celebrity weddings to bridal features in films, the exquisite creations of Vera Wang are beautiful and timeless inspirations.

Created to be iconic

Of the numerous gowns Vera created, many have been worn to weddings of celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Alicia Keys. The Posh Spice’s ballgown is among the defining styles of the ’90s. The champagne-colored dress features a strapless, sculpted neckline with a voluminous skirt extending into a 20-foot long train. Paired off with a tiara, Victoria’s wedding look is certainly unforgettable.

Films featured other Vera Wang creations like the classic tulle dress Kate Hudson wore in the film Bride Wars. The costume designer Karen Patch redesigned the gown. “The idea for her dress was that she was the iconic bride… She was the bride who could have anything she wanted,” Patch shares.

Presidential daughters like Barbara Bush, Chelsea Clinton, and Ivanka Trump have also worn Vera Wang. On Ivanka’s wedding day, she wore the Esther dress. The bridal look of Grace Kelly inspired the sophisticated gown. It is an A-line dress with a sheer tulle elbow-length sleeve. A horsehair sash cinches the waist for an added flair.

Society figures like Isabelle Daza and Anne Gauthier Das Neves have worn Vera Wang to their weddings, even Lifestyle Asia’s November 2017 cover personality Patty Ang. From detailed embroidery to ballroom tulle dresses, the gowns elevated the grace and splendor of the brides at the ceremony.
