Tina Cuevas may be known as the woman behind the chic boutique Sulo Riviera but the hotelier is also known for her “boho chic” style. “I love it when someone is in a structured gown and she’s tall and thin, but for me, I like the bohemian look with a lot of accessories.” Tina takes Lifestyle Asia on a tour of her closet and tells a story of blessings.
Closet of treasures
Tina likes to keep her collection of accessories organized. She uses a catalog to track the exact space a bag or pair of shoes takes up in the room. “It is very important that we know where it is. It’s all numbered,” she says. Among her collection, she treasures the pieces from her parents. She received a limited edition Fendi bag embroidered with beads from her dad before he passed away. She also inherited her mom’s Gucci ostrich bag and limited edition Prada purse.
To add to her growing collection of style pieces, Tina goes to her favorite stores especially when she travels. When a store no longer carries an item she likes, she is willing to wait. She recounts a shopping experience in Las Vegas. She wanted the Chanel 2.55 bag in pink but was not available at the time. When she already left for home, the boutique kindly sent it to her. “It’s a rare moment when that happens, and when it does, I’m okay to buy something else.” Tina shows she is a determined shopper. Yet she is willing to seek for something equally beautiful.
