Their efforts to save the planet go beyond environmental issues.
For the third year in a row, Italian skiwear brand Moncler is named one of the world’s most sustainable brands. According to the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2021, they received the highest score in the Textiles, Apparel, and Luxury Goods category.

Moncler’s sustainability credentials include developing a strict transparency program through the Down Integrity System & Traceability (DIST). The protocol consists of animal warfare, such as only purchasing down fabric exclusively from a by-product of the food chain.
Crucial efforts
In addition, the high-end label has tackled global issues by making 100 percent of its packaging biodegradable, using 50 percent renewable energy (they plan to hike it up to 80 percent by the end of this year), and encouraging diversity in their workplace with 56 percent of management positions being females.
As a clothing brand, Moncler also uses its resources to protect 50,000 children from cold weather conditions in collaboration with UNICEF.
Sustainability in business
“If I look back and think about every single person’s commitment at Moncler, I believe we’ve done a lot in these years to integrate sustainability in our business model,” says Remo Ruffini, Moncler’s CEO, on their three-peat achievement. “If I look ahead to the urgent social and environmental challenges, I realize that we need to gear up. Young generations are disillusioned and keep reminding us that the time of words has now ended and there is only room left for action”.
S&P Global bases its scores on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, a trusted reference for investors that ranks leading companies based on economic, environmental, and social responsibility criteria.
