The Uninvited: "Tinder Swindler" Claims He'll Attend This BGC Birthday Party, But The Celebrant Says Otherwise - Trending

An unfortunate slight.

Shimon Hayut, who rose to global infamy as Simon Leviev in the documentary The Tinder Swindler, has invited people through video to attend the birthday party of Benchmark Group Holdings chief executive officer Cecile Zamora.

The lifestyle personality had solicited Hayut’s video invitation through the personalized message platform Cameo. What she didn’t expect, however, is that he would invite himself to the party in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

“I want to invite you all on April 27, at 8:00 pm…in BGC at Cecile’s birthday… Save the date, it’s gonna be amazing. And I’m gonna be there,” Hayut said in the video he sent to Zamora.

She told the media that this is false, even asking Hayut to clarify in the video that he will not be attending her celebration.

“I don’t even know why he said that,” Zamora said.

The birthday celebrant chose to avail Hayut’s personalized video message services due to the limited options in Cameo. She also added how the “Tinder Swindler” has been recently trending and she finds him hilarious.

Zamora doesn’t expect Hayut to gatecrash the party, saying she is not his crowd nor a socialite.

Back in business

Hayut’s profile, which includes his alternate name Simon Leviev and even the “Tinder Swindler” label, has over 1,000 followers and 150 five-star reviews.

Interested customers can avail his services for personal use (around P7,800) or for business (around P41,700).

Hayut is an Israel-born convicted fraudster who used dating apps to meet women through whom he would establish lines of credit and loans in their names, leaving them to shoulder the bills.

Netflix has announced that The Tinder Swindler has become the platform’s most-watched documentary. It gained 166 million hours of viewing time within its first 28 days alone.

“Posing as a wealthy, jet-setting diamond mogul, he wooed women online then conned them out of millions of dollars. Now some victims plan for payback,” reads the documentary’s synopsis.
