Be At Ease: The New Mood Holiday Collection is Here

As the New Mood holiday collection proves, you don’t need to sacrifice style for comfort.

Randy Ortiz

Striking a balance between comfortable and chic, iconic designer Randy Ortiz’s offering of free-size dresses and multipurpose shrugs in cotton, linen, and rayon jersey in whites, blues, and greys in bursts colors are to make both the wearer “lighten up ” but retain a sense of classic and clean. “I am designing for the women who desire comfort, but not at the expense of looking fabulous.”

Chris Nick

2020 marks the return to slow fashion, and is defined by the toning down of the fast pace of seasonal clothing and appreciating the work that goes into every piece. The designer presents two-five piece capsule collections: the Lounge Line and the Evening Basics with bestsellers from his previous collections. “It’s all about mixing and matching versatile comfortable pieces to your liking—staple wardrobe pieces that can go from boudoir to a little fête,” he says.

Jun Escario

For Cebu-based designer Jun Escario, this selection of pieces centered on elevated loungewear is a departure from his usual aesthetic of intricate formalwear. To be cohesive with the mood of the times, he thought of the woman working at home: someone who wants to look presentable but effortless, in fabrics that are cooling yet stylish. “If you are not barefoot, then you are overdressed.”

Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez

Designed for the modern woman, each piece (seven in total) by Rosana Ocampo-Rodriguez is a new take on the brand’s iconic design classics. “We chose to do different versions of our bestseller iconic tops for a sense of familiarity in these circumstances,” says the designer. “These pieces you should be able to throw on without too much thought, and the design does all the talking for.”

Rhett Eala

After three decades in the world of fashion, having seen multiple shifts in the zeitgeist, Rhett Eala’s new mood is centered on the “ease of dressing.” Easy shapes, in fabrics of linen, cotton, and other textiles he was inspired by, allowed him to express his thinking. “I’m designing for people who still want to look good but more dressed down. It’s not about dressing for others; rather, dressing for themselves [and] wanting to look good for themselves.”
