Genuinely healthy snacks are a bit hard to find around the metro. Even if you happen to find a place claiming to offer green grub, they sometimes fall short and the nutritional value of their products are questionable at best. Then comes along this new concept in BGC by Chateau 1771. The Juicery, as it is named for simplicity, is 1771 Group’s take on healthy eating with a quick and easy approach.
Whether it be a quick afternoon snack or a post-workout meal, Juicery has a lot to offer with their sweet but guilt-free fare. You can choose from their shakes, smoothies, juices, and even some healthy meals to pair them with.
Served in a 16 oz. cup, their shakes are a vibrant roster of fruits with some interesting combinations such as Mango Strawberry, Pomelo Watermelon, and Strawberry Banana. While they also have some solo fruit shakes such as Avocado (seasonal), Banana, and Strawberry. A notable feature on The Juicery’s menu is that all their drinks come with a Sugar-Free option. Without the added sugars, you can be sure that all your tasting is natural sweetness.
There’s nothing like a good blended juice to get you feeling cleansed and refreshed at whatever point in your day. At the Juicery, juices are given unique names that reflect their ingredients. The Big Vibe is made from apple, beetroot, orange, carrot, and lemon. While the Purify (which has the most ingredients), has apple, beetroot, strawberry, carrot, celery, cucumber, lemon, and orange. For those who have only started trying out juices, a good beginner one is the Strawberry Fields, which is a sweet blend of apple, strawberry, watermelon, and orange.
If a creamier drink is what you’re looking for, then their smoothies are a definite must-try. Made with all-natural yogurt, and just like their juices, you can opt for a completely sugar-free version for the smoothies as well. The one I highly recommend is the Strawberry Kale which is a sweet thick drink that just gives the tiniest hint of bitterness from the kale that deepens the smoothie’s taste. Other smoothies you can try are the Banana Strawberry and Mango flavors.
If you’re wondering what sweetening ingredient goes into the shakes and smoothies for the sugar-free versions – that would be nipa sweetener. Nipa sweetener is a natural flavoring that is sourced from the nipa palm and has a low-glycemic index. Meaning it gives the most natural sweetness at its healthiest.
Salads, Soups, et al.
Contrary to its name, the Juicery offers more than just healthy drinks. Staying true to their commitment for hearty and healthy offerings, an array of salads and soups are also available if you’re looking for more of a chew. All their salads are either vegetarian or have a vegetarian version, which gives you control of what protein you intake. A highlight salad is the Pink Detox Salad made with pomelo, kale, watermelon, walnuts, chèvre goat’s cheese, and drizzled with a yogurt-pomegranate dressing. The bright flavors of the salad makes it a tasty fit for a pre- or post-workout meal.
Another salad you can try is the Kale Caesar, which you can add shredded chicken to and even quinoa. You can also try the Asian Steak Tips if you’re looking into a meatier salad but you can also order it without the beef. The Veggie Quinoa Salad is one of their full vegetarian dishes that has a savory kick from its green eggplants, blue cheese, and balsamic dressing.
Lastly, we have their soups. A full vegetarian roster, you can choose from four kinds: Onion, Tomato, Mushroom, or Curried Squash. These on-the-go soups are perfect for your work lunch as you can buy them frozen from the store to heat it up later. Of course, you can have it warm if you want to consume it right away.
Aside from all of these, their menu also has other healthy treats such as their fruit cups, their refreshing Honey Ginger Lemonade, and the multitude of add-ons you can avail for their drinks and salads.
It is rarely said that healthy food comes with delicious flavor, yet the Juicery pulls it off with their light flavorful food and their satisfying sugar-free drinks. With multiple factors that go into living a healthier lifestyle, it’s relieving to know that places like the Juicery exists. Lightening the hassle of thinking what goes into your body and just ordering something because it tastes good. So if you’re looking for a proper starting point for your diet, best start at the Juicery.
