The Future of Food and Fitness

Lifestyle Asia has recently released “Millennials. Travel. Entertaining,” a coffee table book inspired by a “curated Instagram feed”. We have curated photographs of outstanding travel stories, the most exemplary parties in town, and millennials who are making a difference in the world through the lives they chose to live.
The third chapter of the book focuses on millennials promoting health or changing the taste of the food industry through their careers. Those under the fitness section are individuals who are dedicated in encouraging clean and healthy lifestyles. They inspire other young people to achieve the best version of themselves. On the other hand, Manila’s young foodies are changing the scape of the Philippines with every new food concept they bring to life. They are forging the path towards an improved culture in the country, one where good food is abundant.

Amanda Fernandez is a sports enthusiast and athlete. She founded SPARTA, a fitness center that promises to help patrons become the best versions of themselves. Amanda enjoys all types of sports and can be found on soccer fields, the boxing ring, volleyball and even in calisthenics. She has added another job to her resume as a sports reporter at ESPN.
David Del Rosario
David’s career path in the finance sector took a different turn when he followed his passion and enrolled in a culinary school in New York. His decision was validated when he received the highest honors in Culinary Management and Culinary Arts, besides a certificate for the Most Likely to succeed. He is now implanting his culinary plan in a restaurant he started in Siargao. David has always loved the beach and is now fulfilling two dreams in one go.
“I’ve always felt at home in the mountains and oceans,” says mountaineer Javi Cang. On social media, he enjoys bringing awareness to the beautiful natural landscapes of the Philippines. someday hoping to summit a major Himalayan peak or two, Javi says, “It’s all about priorities and motivation and at this point in my life, I hope to climb.”
Gen co-founded Paleo Manila, the first Paleo door-to-door meal plan delivery service, providing food without gluten, dairy, grain, soy, refined sugar legume and GMO-free. Their company offers food that support’s the body’s natural healing process to prevent and reverse disease. “I love developing ideas and having them come to life,” says Gen who works out in the gym, likes to travel and discover new flavors. “Local food is the best way to experience culture.”
Erwan Heussaff is a cook and food entrepreneur, owning and operating restaurants in and around Metro Manila. His cooking, fitness and travel videos are widely followed on social media, especially on his website www.thefatkidinside.com, which is also his moniker.

Restaurateur of Sushi Nori, Nara Thai, Wow Wok and Roku, Milka gets her motivation from traveling in order to create unique and local concepts for the Filipino food industry. She also attributes her values from playing football to having teamwork, perseverance and passion.
