The Art of Ambiance: Louis Poulsen Formally Launches in Manila Through a Scandinavian-Themed Pop-Up Cafe - Suite Life

Since its founding in 1874, Louis Poulsen has followed an ethos of Scandinavian design tradition, which always follows function.

Danish luxury lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen has formally launched in the Philippines. On September 1, the brand celebrated through a Scandinavian-themed pop-up cafe at Twenty-Four Seven McKinley Building in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. 

The brand has collaborated with globally known designers like Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Arne Jacobsen, and Vilhelm Lauritzen.

Adapting to the Danish hygge culture (which equals coziness and well-being), the office space was transformed into a comforting space. Cocktails and coffee by The Curator were served, along with pasties from Eric Kayser. To complete the laid-back ambiance was music mixed by DJ Pamcy. 

In 1926, Louis Poulsen was tasked to light Copenhagen’s Forum Building.

The following year, PH won the Paris Exposition. This allowed Louis Poulsen to light Copenhagen’s Forum Building. Today, the venue holds a variety of concerts, markets, and exhibitions for up to 10,000 people.

Over the years, the brand has earned global awards as a company and for specific designs.

Over the years, the brand has earned more global awards, including the Danish Design Prize in 2003 and “‘Lamp of the Year” in 2017 for the Yuh, designed by GamFratesi. Louis Poulsen is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Focus Global Inc, which houses recognizable home brands B&B Italia, Maxalto, Miele, Kitchenaid, and Boffi.
