Long-lasting makeup has been around for a few decades now, so we aren’t strangers to an hour-long lasting foundation, smudge-proof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, color staying lipstick, and 24-hour eyebrows.
These are well worth the investment when it comes to building your makeup wardrobe, but did you know there are tips and tricks you can do to extend the life of your makeup? Here are some secrets to maintain long-lasting makeup.
Exfoliate regularly
Never underestimate the power of exfoliation. Using a facial scrub with cleansing beads or granules not only removes dead skin cells, but it also jumpstarts skin renewal turnover, which can slow down as we age. Cleansing and exfoliating allow makeup to adhere better to our skin and gives us a smooth canvas to work with.
Invest in quality makeup brushes
While it might be easy to use just any makeup brush to apply your makeup, you will truly see the difference when you start using quality brushes. Not only does it feel amazing when used to apply makeup on your skin, but it also distributes evenly and blends flawlessly. This results in beautifully applied makeup, that in turn, lasts longer.
A little makeup goes a long way
While some of us might think that more is more when it comes to makeup (for instance, the more foundation we apply, the better our skin will look), this couldn’t be more inaccurate.
