Spirited Away: Japan's Highly Anticipated Ghibli Park Opens To The Public - Travel

The Japanese animation film studio known for titles like My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke has finally come to life.

Ghibli Park, the real-world counterpart of Studio Ghibli, officially opened to the public in November 2022.

This dedicated theme park represents the world of Studio Ghibli, including its lineup of critically acclaimed films since 1985.

The park’s first phase has formally launched to include “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse,” “Hill of Youth,” and “Dondoko Forest.”

Meanwhile, upcoming locations include the Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village.

Developers will continue to build Ghibli Park “with close consultation with the surrounding forest” on and within the grounds of Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park (Moricoro Park).

“There are no big attractions or rides in Ghibli Park. Take a stroll, feel the wind, and discover the wonders,” the park’s website describes.
