In the Philippines, the annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) sees the sitting president outline their administration’s priorities in a televised address as the entire country watches.

Catching just as much publicity yearly are the SONA attendees, who arrive in their best nationalist garb.

Congresswoman Len Alonte came in a Michael Leyva classic Filipiniana white lace gown draped with tulle.

Heart Evangelista

Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Heart Evangelista both wore custom Mark Bumgarner pieces. Evangelista brought two of the designer’s creations, both modern-day ternos.

Milen Gonzalez

Doctor Milen Aquino Gonzales, the wife of Congressman Sandro Gonzales, wore a modern Filipiniana gown by Marlon Tuazon, as styled by Cath Sobrevega.

Odette Pumaren

Odette Pumaren, the wife of Congressman Franz Pumaren, came in a minimalist Filipiniana with monochromatic geometric shapes on the sleeves and waistline.

Angelica Revilla

Rob Ortega dressed Angelica Revilla, the wife of Congressman Jolo Revilla, in a fringe Filipiniana adorned with floral pailettes.

Xandra Rocha

Puey Quinones specially made a “Dalagang Bukid” inspired terno for Xandra Rocha.

Ging Suansing

Former Congresswoman Estrellita “Ging” Suansing, similar to her 2020 SONA attire, wore an Ivarluski Aseron Filipiniana featuring a wide zigzag pattern.

Emmeline Villar

Emmeline Villar, the wife of Senator Mark Villar and former Justice Undersecretary, wore a Puey Quinones Filipiniana with a frame-hugging silhouette finished with a puffy skirt.
