The 88-year-old British star who has appeared in over 100 films in his six-decade career is downsizing as he “starts taking life at a more leisurely pace,” Bonhams said in a press release.

“Sir Michael Caine: The Personal Collection” will be sold at Bonhams on March 2 this year. The collection includes items from the thespian’s professional history, ranging from movie posters and fine art, to his iconic spectacles.

“It’s going to be quite a wrench to part with so many treasured parts of my life and career, but it’s the right time to be moving on. I hope these mementos will give their new owners as much pleasure as they have given us,” Caine said through Bonhams.

Highlights include the actor’s Rolex wristwatch (estimated £8,000 to £12,000), his portrait by John Bratby signed and dated 1977 (estimated £2,000 to £3,000), a large Italian cinema poster for Zulu (estimated £500 to £800), a film poster for Alfie (estimated £500 to £800), a collection of autographs acquired at the 1970 Tony Award ceremony (estimated £1,000 to £1,500), and a director’s chair (estimated £800 to £1,200).

More information will be published by Bonhams, with catalogs usually made available four weeks before the official auction date. Meanwhile, the full collection can be viewed here.

Bonhams Director of House Sales and Iconic Collections Charlie Thomas said that the auction expects to attract public attention given Caine’s prestige.

“Sir Michael Caine is a cinema legend internationally and a national treasure here in the United Kingdom. I know the Sir Michael Caine Collection Sale will excite great interest among collectors and film fans alike.”

The actor has received six Oscar acting nominations between 1966 to 2002, winning Best Supporting Actor for Hannah and Her Sisters in 1986 and The Cider House Rules in 1999. He also has a BAFTA Award and three Golden Globe Awards—all for Best Actor.

“I haven’t retired and not a lot of people know that,” Caine posted in October 2021.
