Rundown: Everything You Need to Know About the Upcoming Oktoberfest at Sofitel -

Ein Prosit! Ein Prosit! Der Gemuglichkeit (a toast, a toast to cheer and good times)! We’ll be humming that verse from the famous Oktoberfest anthem all the way till October 6 and 7, when the German Club’s 79th Annual Oktoberfest comes to the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. The best German cuisine, unlimited beer, wild drinking games and special room rates await patrons of the yearly festivity. We’ve got you covered on everything you need to know about this exciting event.

1. WHO, WHAT and WHERE?
The Philippine leg of the German Club has been organizing Oktoberfest for years. For the eighth time, they have chosen the luxury hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila as their official venue. On October 6 and 7, the hotel will transform their expansive Harbor Garden Tent into a traditional biergärten, the most authentic staging of the beloved Bavarian event in the Philippines. Long tables with individual beer dispensers, festive lights and Oktoberfest memorabilia will have guests transported to Munich. In addition, men and women will be donning traditional Bavarian costume like the lederhosen and the dirndls.

2. GAMES AND FABULOUS PRIZES
2,000 guests are expected to arrive at the hotel for Oktoberfest. This will make it even more fun, as everybody is expected to participate in the traditional games, including the beer drinking competition which is always considered a highlight of the evening. There will also a grand raffle draw that takes the victor to any destination they please in Germany. Guests will also be treated to The Bavarian Sound Express, a singing group flying in from Germany to enliven the space and keep the excitement up.

3. A GERMAN SPREAD LIKE NO OTHER
Sofitel’s master chefs will showcase a grand buffet spread for the guests to munch on during the celebration. Bavarian favorites such as German sausages, pretzels, roasted calf, laugen rolls, and roasted pork knuckles will be available. An unlimited stock of ice-cold San Miguel beer will have guests staying and drinking until the wee hours of the morning. It is not Oktoberfest if you’re not full with food and drink. Don’t forget, Sofitel is the hotel responsible for Spiral, one of Manila’s most beloved buffets, so expect top quality food.
