Going Beyond Borders, Lifestyle Asia Celebrates Power The Crazy Rich Asian Way

Lifestyle Asia travels to Bangkok for the highly-anticipated RSVP Series, hosting exclusive luxurious experiences for its honored guests.

What do you do to mark the milestone of having Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan on the cover of Lifestyle Asia in October? Why, you travel the grand city of Bangkok for all things gourmet, top-of-the-line, and exclusive. It is all about influence after all, and there was no way to do it than this way.

For RSVP Lifestyle Asia, the team flew to Bangkok to host a series of premium experiences for its distinguished guests. In partnership with gems of Thai culture, One Siam, ICONSIAM, and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, we welcomed the honored guests with an exclusive, one-of-a-kind dinner at the famed Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. The night was not only a celebration of RSVP Lifestyle Asia outside the country, but it was also an opportunity to bond and strengthen relationships among good friends.

A one-of-a-kind, luxurious treatment

Lifestyle Asia sent out invitations to select influential people to come to an exclusive event in Bangkok and experience only the best from the country. Starting from their departure at the airport, it was a premium service of hospitality all the way as an RSVP Lifestyle Asia sign guided the guests to a VIP lane at the check-in counter and fast immigration processing for their convenience. After their travels, a welcome treat was bestowed to each, where the team handed out gifts from La Mer and One Siam, expressing a heartfelt appreciation for joining us on this one-of-a-kind celebration.

The luxurious and tailor-made treatment continued with customary welcome cocktails in Siam Paragon, followed by an opulent dinner hosted at Waldorf Astoria restaurant, where exquisite looks from the guests easily stood out.

15 Mercedes-Benz were deployed as chauffeured service to the dinner and were on standby to escort guests back to the hotel after the evening’s reveries. Walking in the Front Room dressed in their finest suits and statement-making dresses from designers and storied fashion brands, the esteemed delegation couldn’t contain their excitement for the night, which marked the beginning of even more unforgettable moments in Bangkok.

A big, bold, and beautiful coming together as this was, it was at its core, definitely indicative of our earnest intent of living beyond luxury.

A warm and lively welcome

The dinner began with the welcoming remarks of Lifestyle Asia’s Editor-in-Chief Dong Ronquillo who thanked our partners in Thailand for this wonderful, unique experience. MQDC Vice President Sangrawee Kositphaisan and Assistant Managing Director of Siam Piwat Company Sarutorn Asaves extended their gratitude for this one-of-a-kind opportunity to share their stories, especially in introducing The Residences at Mandarin Oriental.

Over dinner, well-known Thai singers Panadda Ruangwut and Mutmee Pimdao serenaded the guests with their soothing voices where Mutmee crooned opera, while Panadda uplifted the energy in the room with her lively songs, allowing guests to sway and dance to the rhythm of the music.

A delightful Thai feast

Waldorf Astoria made the dinner a truly elegant affair. A tasteful set-up of pristine white blooms made the tablescape even more exquisite and inviting. Accented by the warmth of miniature candles housed in clear glasses, the set up certainly reflected the comfort and camaraderie among good friends, as a scrumptious Thai spread of delicacies were served.

The dinner began with Thai Velkommen (croustades, pomelo, and shrimp, and air-dried duck and pickled carrots), Atlantic Laks (salmon, lemon gel, and rice mayo), Maelk (caramelized milk skin and lemongrass scallop), and Sukothai Duck with mulberry sauce. Those who preferred beef had their share of short rib with Asian sauce. To cap off the variety of robust and filling flavors, guests indulged in Rosella Hibiscus made of caramel white chocolate and rose apple sauce, together with a selection of petit fours.

Honored guests toasting to a wonderful evening.

The beautiful evening highlighted the relationships among friends that will be further strengthened with RSVP Lifestyle Asia. From this dinner alone, distinguished guests were warmed up and made ready to enjoy the rest of the exclusive experiences Lifestyle Asia prepared for them to the fullest.
