Return of the Jetsetters: Rimowa Opens Its First PH Flagship Store in Greenbelt 3 - Lifestyle Asia

A new limited-edition piece is in-stores now to celebrate the opening.

For their first flagship store in the Philippines, Rimowa recently opened its doors in the luxury wing of Greenbelt 3 on November 29. Founded in 1898, the German brand is well-known for its aluminum paneled designs.

However, in recent years, the LVMH label had collaborated with Supreme, Off-White, and Bape to connect with the streetwear craze—especially when Alexandre Arnault, the son of the son of LVMH’s chairman Bernard Arnault, started helming Rimowa in 2017.

In fact, it was the 29-year-old who convinced his father to acquire the luggage company to join their luxury conglomerate. By 2019, they worked with a non-streetwear brand through a collection with Fendi, its LVMH stablemate.

Currently, Rimowa products are still designed and engineered in Germany and “combines a legacy of craftsmanship with the rigors of modern technology.”

Accommodating atmosphere

As their ongoing rebrand for the local market experience a more open and accommodating atmosphere, Rimowa’s Makati flagship store features two large aluminum panels, wall displays in warm beige tones, and an in-store client care counter for on-site suitcase repairs.

There’s also a wall display of colorful stickers to choose from—one way to customize your Rimowa suitcases with designs of the global cities you’ve traveled to. Another approach to making your premium luggage more to your liking is the leather handle selection.

You can choose a separate handle from a range of shades to replace a piece’s original one to make it more your own. In addition, Rimowa’s on-site technicians will gladly install the new handle for you.

Collections available

The boutique is now offering their staple collections and a limited-edition piece to celebrate the store’s opening through the Rimowa Personal in a new “Bamboo” shade inspired by Thailand’s floating markets.

Once you’ve shopped for your new suitcase set for upcoming travels, you don’t have to worry about finding a repair shop if needed. Each luggage is engraved with a serial code, which will allow any of Rimowa’s 150 stores in 65 countries to mend damages.
