The Marriott Grand Ballroom was filled with the best of the media industry for the 2017 Philippine Quill Awards. The award giving body recognizes excellence in “organizations with communication programs, projects, skills and design that showcases how communication enables organizations from private, government, and non-profit/NGO sectors meet their goals and targets sustainably, innovatively and responsibly.” Winners from each side of the media spectrum were awarded that evening from magazines, television, advertising and media agencies.
Lifestyle Asia’s very own Editor-in-Chief Anna Sobrepeña and Assistant Editor Sara Siguion-Reyna were in attendance to accept the magazine’s 6th Philippine Quill award. Winning in the Journalism Division was the magazine’s October 2016 cover story on Vice President Leni Robredo, entitled “The Rise of a Stateswoman”.
Sobrepeña, who penned the winning article took to social media to express her gratitude saying, “Sharing the honor with Sara Siguion-Reyna of receiving the Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators. Lifestyle Asia doesn’t always submit an entry, but when we do, we add to the number of trophies now counting six from the four times we joined. This one’s for an amazing team that I am honored to be part of.” Earlier that the day, she hosted a celebratory lunch with Vice President Leni Robredo and United States of America Ambassador Sung Y. Kim.
