Pedal to the Metal: Sergio Pérez Wins the Monaco Grand Prix and Takes Home his Trophy in an LV Case - The Scene

Louis Vuitton’s list of trophy projects is getting longer.

On Sunday, Sergio Pérez of team Red Bull won the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix after beating Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in a close race. Upon being awarded, the Mexico native dedicated his victory to his family and his nation —then received the first-place trophy in a case by Louis Vuttion.

Last year, the French house also provided the Monaco Grand Prix’s trophy case as it joins their string of similar projects for the NBA, online game League of Legends, and FIFA.

The box features LV’s signature monogram in red and black to honor Monaco’s national colors. Another symbolic design element is the larvae red and white “V” across the case, representing “victory.”

Respective fields of expertise

Where the trophy sits inside, there’s a replica of Monaco’s 3,337-km circuit with its famous 19 bends.

“Fangio, Hill, Moss, Stewart, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, or more recently Alonso, Vettel, Rosberg, Ricciardo or Hamilton, the Monaco Grand Prix has celebrated the greatest champions,” Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Michael Burke said.

“At almost 300 km/h between the rails, it is the Formula 1 Grand Prix that all drivers aspire to win one day. “ Formed in 2021, Louis Vuitton has a long-term partnership with Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM).

“Louis Vuitton and the Automobile Club de Monaco are at once forerunners and project supervisors in their respective fields of expertise. Louis Vuitton is associated with the most coveted trophies in the world,” Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club de Monaco, shared in a statement.

“This emblematic partnership allows the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco trophy to benefit from this heritage, bringing unprecedented elegance into the world of motorsport.”
