US President Joe Biden hosted his eldest granddaughter’s wedding at the White House’s South Lawn. Last November 19, Naomi Biden married Peter Neal in front of approximately 250 guests. The bride wore a Grace-Kelly-inspired gown by Ralph Lauren, the same label she donned on Inauguration Day.

“It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,” said the President and First Lady, Jill, in a joint statement. “Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband, and we’re honored to welcome him to our family. We wish them days full of laughter and a love that grows deeper with every passing year.”

Naomi works as a lawyer, while Neal, a Wyoming native, recently completed law school at the University of Pennsylvania. The couple met in 2018 and had been residing at the White House before their wedding. Unlike some of the 18 other weddings celebrated at the White House, the recent ceremony was closed to the press.

More celebrations commenced that weekend. The next day, the President celebrated his 80th birthday through a brunch organized by the First Lady. “A perfect birthday celebration filled with so much love — and Joe’s favorite coconut cake!” Jill tweeted with a photo of the President surrounded by family.
