The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed its nominations for the 2022 Oscars.

The 94th Academy Awards are set to be held at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center on March 27.

Netflix’s The Power of the Dog leads the pack with 12 nominations.

Pleasant surprises include international films scoring multiple nominations in major categories.

On top of the International Feature Film category, Drive My Car is in the race for Best Picture, Directing, Writing (Adapted Screenplay) while The Worst Person in the World is considered among the best for Writing (Original Screenplay).

Flee chose to fight. It made Academy history for being the first title to be nominated for Animated Feature Film, Documentary (Feature), and International Feature Film at the same time.

Right in time for Valentine’s, power couple Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst both accepted their first Oscar nominations for Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role, respectively, in Power of the Dog.

The most controversial “snub” was Lady Gaga in House of Gucci, as the Academy wasn’t so gaga for her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani.

Gaga, however, had received the New York Film Critics Circle’s distinction for Best Actress. She was also the only actress this year to have picked up nominations at the BAFTAs, Critics Choice Awards, Golden Globes, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards—a key indicator in Oscars campaigns.

Here is the full list of nominees in the upcoming Oscars 2022.
