Organically Designed: This Car Of Tomorrow Makes An Appearance At The Hollywood Premiere Of 'Avatar: The Way Of Water' - Play

“It’s not in the new Avatar movie, but it was designed in partnership between Mercedes and Lightstorm Entertainment, James Cameron’s production company, to show what a car of the future could be like.”

According to Mercedes Benz USA “it was a night full of stars where the Vision AVTR shined bright at the Holywood blue carpet premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water.” The brand adds, “From bionic solar flaps to light-reactive fabric seats and an interior that recognizes passengers by their breathing, the Vision AVTR embodies a future where humanity, nature, and technology exist in harmony.”

An Instagram post by @mercedesbenz says, “The #VISIONAVTR aims to embed themes such as sustainability, technology, and innovation uniting our journey to a fully-electric future.”

Bloomberg Pursuits Instagram post writes: “It felt more like playing with a pet dragon than driving a car,” says Bloomberg’s @hannahelliottxo, who test drove the one and only Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR.

The post also said: “First released as a thought experiment at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2020, Vision AVTR rolls on four oversized wheels that look like cartoon donuts. Its dual ovoid doors, which double as large side windows, are not what you’d call “seaworthy” — and it won’t be appearing in Avatar: The Way of Water, the Avatar sequel that inspired its design.

The vehicle is, however, an example of what Mercedes thinks cars should be decades from now: electric, efficient, and made from sustainable materials. It is seamless inside between front and rear, and morphs between drive modes and appearance based on the mood of the driver.”

In an Instagram post Hannah Elliot shares, “This is the Mercedes Vision AVTR concept car. It’s not in the new Avatar movie, but it was designed in partnership between Mercedes and Lightstorm Entertainment, James Cameron’s production company, to show what a car of the future could be like. (Electric, sustainable, and more like a living organism than a machine.) Read about my test drive at the link in my bio!” Click here for the review.
