In an exclusive interview with CNN, the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos “plans to give away the majority of his $124 billion net worth during his lifetime.”
The same report said that he will “devote the bulk of his wealth to fighting climate change and supporting people who can unify humanity in the face of deep social and political divisions.”

This is the first time Bezos has made an announcement of planning to donate most of his fortune. This was done during an interview with Chloe Melas of CNN where Bezos shared these plans while speaking side by side Lauren Sanchez, his girlfriend, a former journalist and now a philanthropist. According to Sanchez they are “building the capacity to be able to give away this money.”
Recently, Bezos offered Dolly Parton $100M as the winner of the “Bezos Courage & Civility Award.” In recognition of the country music performer and legend, Sanchez describes her as “a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love.”
