The property’s new general manager helms the resort to continue its legacy of welcoming guests to one of the world’s best islands.

Helming the Shangri-La Boracay is its new hotel manager Hans Martin Gfrei, who will lead the resort in elevating guest experiences. Previously, the Italy native managed Shangri-La Jakarta, Indonesia, after holding the executive assistant manager of food and beverage post at Shangri-La Singapore.

“I am excited to be part of the Shangri-La Boracay team and welcome guests to their luxurious getaway in one of the best islands in the world,” Gfrei says.

Previously, Gfrei, an Italy native, managed Shangri-La Jakarta, Indonesia, after holding the executive assistant manager of food and beverage post at Shangri-La Singapore.

Comprehensive facilities

Gfrei, who grew up in the Italian Alps, has accumulated more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. The field has taken him to global opportunities for luxury properties all over Europe, Dubai, and China.

Shangri-La Boracay sits on a 12-hectare property with 219 rooms and suites, including 36 villas. Apart from its facilities, which include the brand’s signature Chi Spa and Adventure Zone, they offer an entertainment center, health club, tennis court, and dive center. Two private beach coves are available to guests, namely Banyugan Beach and Punta Bunga Beach.

There are four food and beverage outlets whether you want to dine by the beach, clifftop, or poolside. Located by the ocean views is the Vintana Asian Café, which serves an international gourmet menu. Rima Mediterranean Treetop Dining is situated overlooking the resort, which the resort recommends for a romantic setting. Meanwhile, Sirena Restaurant & Clifftop Bar presents the flavors of the ocean through seafood offerings.

Approaching Shangri-La Boracay

The Cielo Poolside Restaurant & Bar is located by the main pool for casual yet relaxing meals. It also includes a beach bar by the exclusive Banyugan beach. Shangri-La has more than 80 luxury properties globally, including Australia, Canada, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Fiji, France, India, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
