Meeting Needs: Rick Owens, Fashion’s ‘Lord of Darkness,’ Has Released Children’s Wear - Lookbook

The kids around him inspired the “Babygeo” collection, from his colleagues’ babies to his own grandchildren, three-year-old Nicée and one-year-old Petra.

Rick Owens, the American-born, Paris-based designer whose gothic style dubbed him fashion’s “The Lord of Darkness,” has released a whole collection of children’s wear.

The kids around him inspired the “Babygeo” collection, Owens’ new category range. From his colleagues’ babies to his own grandchildren, three-year-old Nicée and one-year-old Petra.

The range includes functional wear to keep kids warm in colder seasons, such as puffer vests and draped hoodies. In Owns’ signature black-and-white aesthetic, T-shirts, drop-crotch sweats, and socks also make up the line. However, a pop of color is seen in the two-tone sneakers shaded in cream and bright orange.

“After 20 years of working together, babies are entering our lives in a big way,” the designer said in a press release. “Like the furniture and clothes we make, it has always been about furnishing our world and meeting our personal needs in the most harmonious way possible… making things for our babies is our new chapter.”
