And at Louis Vuitton, Kendrick Lamar performs songs from “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,” his latest album after five years, in tribute to Virgil Abloh.

Gypsy Sport, AMI, and LGN provided the celebrity-studded model line-up for runway sightings. Then last but not least, nature called the horses at Casablanca’s show. After all, its founder Charaf Tajer aimed for a ranch in Paris.

Here are more on the Paris Men’s Fashion Week highlights you may have missed.

Runway debuts and returns

After her 2018 fashion show debut at Gypsy Sport’s show during New York Fashion Week, Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, hits the runway of Marine Serre. The showcase set in a track-and-field venue also featured English singer Jorja Smith, dressed in a form-fitting, tiered dress.

For French designer Alexandre Mattiussi’s AMI show, he had model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne walk for her first official fashion week show after years. And she seemed ready for it—the 29-year-old’s runway clip went viral for her animated walk.

Meanwhile, Instagram funny man Jordan Firstman wore nothing but a choker, robe, and boots for his runway debut at LGN.

Surprise Kendrick Lamar performance for Louis Vuitton

Wearing a crown of thorns from his new album cover, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,” Kendrick Lamar surprised Louis Vuitton’s front row with a medley of his latest tracks. (While seated amongst them, specifically in between Naomi Campbell and his manager Dave Free). The headpiece created by Tiffany & Co. took 1,300 hours to make and totals over 137 carats.

On the crown’s meaning, its co-designer Free told Vogue, “The crown is a godly representation of hood philosophies told from a digestible youthful lens,” The rapper performed to pay tribute to Virgil Abloh, LV’s creative director for menswear, who died in November 2021.

Blackpink’s Lisa and BTS’s V steal the Celine show

The French house closed the season yesterday and had its global ambassador, Blackpink’s Lisa, in attendance. With her were her fellow South Korean superstars BTS’ V (his first public appearance since the band announced their hiatus) and actor Park Bo-gum.

Predictably, the stars caused a riot outside Paris’ Avenue de New York, leading to the show venue at Palais de Tokyo.

Nature calls during the Casablanca show

LVMH prize winner and Casablanca founder Charaf Tajer told Vogue he wanted to make a “psychedelic ranch in Paris” for his latest show. Arguably, he did—in ways, he or his show horses couldn’t control.

Casablanca enlisted four horses and real cowboys to keep them calm. However, their four-legged friends made droppings all over their enclosure when nature called.
