Here is the ultimate fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the world’s biggest movie franchise, having earned over $25 billion at the global box office.

In fact, its worldwide gross more than doubles the next closest competitor Star Wars. The latter has earned over $10 billion since its 1977 launch with Episode IV—A New Hope.
Since Iron Man gave birth to the MCU in 2008, the franchise has released its films in “phases.” This is its way of organizing the movies that share overarching storylines, characters, and timelines.
For instance, the MCU’s most successful film, Avengers: Endgame, was part of its Phase 3. Joining it were the likes of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Currently, the franchise is in its Phase 4. It most recently exhibited Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Marvel Studios has since unveiled its plans for Phase 5 and Phase 6 at its San Diego Comic-Con panel. The MCU’s announcement can only mean it intends to keep its record as the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.
Here is the lineup of its upcoming movies stretching out until 2025. Marvel Studios is calling it “The Multiverse Saga.”
Phase 5
From 2023 to 2024, Phase 5 will host a dozen new content for the big and small screens.
These are Secret Invasion (Spring 2023), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 2023), Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (May 2023), Loki Season 2 (Summer 2023), Echo (Summer 2023), The Marvels (July 2023), Blade (November 2023), Ironheart (Fall 2023), Agatha: Coven of Chaos (Winter 2023), Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024), Captain America: New World Order (May 2024), and Thunderbolts (July 2024).
Phase 6
Phase 6, meanwhile, only has three movies announced so far. These are Fantastic Four (November 2024), Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 2025), and Avengers: Secret Wars (November 2025).
