In 2009, Bulgari partnered with Save The Children, the international NGO whose mission was to improve the lives of children through better education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Through the sale of a special collection, programs that support the development and welfare of children are supported.

Leading up to another Mother’s Day celebrated in a pandemic, the two reaffirm that commitment with vigor as the after-effects of COVID continue to pose threats to the younger generation.

Affected lives

The global health crisis deeply impacts children, families, communities and societies all over the world. Children all over the world have had their lives affected by disruptions like school closures, with the risk of a deviation from the path of education, stretched health systems, lost livelihoods, and restricted access to nutritious food.

Now, in consideration of the COVID-19’s significant consequences on the children’s lives, has become more important than ever for Bvlgari and Save the Children, protecting this generation—and its chance to have a happy present and a better future.

At the tail end of last year, Bulgari’s battlecry was #givehope, which had the likes of Candice Patton, Martha Pozzan, and Lily Aldridge explaining how purchasing the collection can help kids in need.

Powerful programs

This initiative’s newest campaign, #PROTECTAGENERATION, represents their joint answer to counter a potential intergenerational catastrophe. Focusing on Education, Poverty Alleviation, Youth Empowerment, and Emergency Readiness, the Italian luxury house want to contrast the negative socio-economic impact of the pandemic and align it more and more to Bvlgari’s Corporate Social Responsibility global strategy.

To date, the successful sales of the custom-made Save the Children jewellery collection have helped to raise more than $100 million globally, primarily invested to guarantee quality education as an indispensable premise for development.

According to Save the Children, the funds raised through the partnership have been invested in over 120 projects, affecting around two million children in need. In the US, Bulgari is a generous supporter of Save the Children’s education programs, in particular Arte di Bvlgari. This is a community-based afterschool arts initiative that allows kids to participate and learn the arts.

To date, the Save the Chldren collection has raised more than $100 million globally.

Other key areas of intervention are youth empowerment, providing adolescents with the practical skills they need to find a job and earn a living, emergency response and the fight against poverty through targeted programs in the communities.
