“So surreal being able to travel again… excited to be reunited with my dad after more than a year of lockdown and being away from each other,” Sarah shares in a post on Instagram

Many moments from the trip were shared on her feed, from museum visits in Geneva and lunch cruises at Lake Patrimoine to dinner dates in Harder Klum and mountain biking in Zermatt.

The couple, who is on the cover of this month’s issue of Lifestyle Asia, talked more at length of how grateful they were as a family for the time to bond.

As mentioned, Sarah was able to reunite with her dad Abdel after not seeing him since the pandemic started and lockdowns were put in place. She also got to celebrate her mom Esther’s birthday and even attend the wedding of a close friend in Aubonne.

But the highlights were moments with Richard, Zion, and Kai, and becoming tourists in various parts of her home country.

Richard himself said that the trip is one of their most memorable yet, simply because “it was our first trip since the pandemic as a family and we were able to explore different cities in Switzerland for the first time.”

“It was a great opportunity for us to bond as a family,” he adds. “Aside from the breathtaking views and adventurers, for me the one thing I enjoyed the most is the quality time with my family each day.”

They visited the parks and museums the 27-year-old actress used to frequent as a kid, before spending time at Lake Geneva in Lausanne, where a lunch cruise allowed them to admire stunning views of the medieval fortress Chillon Castle; UNESCO World Heritage Site and vineyard, Lavaux; and the villages in between.

They also explored the Swiss Alps, hiking up trails, enjoying “never-ending views,” and make cheese. In Zurich, the family experienced “the best guided tour ever” at Lindt’s museum called Home of Chocolate.

On a helicopter ride, the family got to see the majestic Matterhorn peak up close at 4,000 meters high in the Valais Alps. For the first time, the couple also tried paragliding at the resort town of Interlaken.

“I’m extremely grateful to have my family with me and so lucky I finally got to go home,” she says. “I’m also thankful that I’ve been able to bring Zion and Kai for them to experience freedom.”
