It’s the most expensive motorhome on the market today.
The hashtag #vanlife has been used in over 11 million posts on Instagram as of writing. With posts mainly coming from the US, the trend of American millennials packing their essentials and living in a motorhome boosted over the pandemic.
With the new avenue leisure travelers are getting into, German luxury motorhome manufacturer Volkner Mobil is taking their models up a notch for the wealthy.
Priced at $2.4 million, their new Performance S model includes a kitchen, full-size shower, white leather interiors (although interiors are fully customizable), and a $355,000 Burmester sound system. But what makes the Performance S unique is that with an additional $3 million, you can get a Bugatti Chiron that can fit comfortably in the motorhome’s “garage.”
The sliding garage’s size is not built to custom fit a Bugatti, though. For instance, you can park other supercars of a similar size, such as a Ferrari 458, Porsche 911, or a Mercedes Benz 200 SL.
Most expensive motorhome
Before Volkner debuted the Performance S in Düsseldorf Caravan Salon earlier this month, a trade fair for motorhomes in Germany, the most expensive camper was the “Ferrari Stowing” by Dembell Motorhomes. Like the Model S, the Dembell vehicle was marketed to fit a Ferrari California or Ferrari Roma underneath it.
However, according to UK Today News, the sound system of the Performance S costs more than the Dembell Ferrari. So the Model S takes the cake for the most expensive motorhome on the market today.
With a lithium battery band, a 2,000 watts rooftop solar panel, spacious cargo, and many customization options—the luxury motorhome’s price tag can reach $7.7 million even without the Bugatti.
