During the broadcast, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to viewers to support his people in any way they can.

“What is more opposite to music? The silence of ruined cities and killed people,” Zelensky said in a video, adding that anything is better than silence.

“Fill the silence with your music. Fill it today, to tell our story. Support us in any way you can. Any, but not silence,” the leader said in relation to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Olivia Rodrigo proved to be the year’s breakout artist as the big winner of the 2022 Grammys overall.

This comes as no surprise following speculations of her making a “clean sweep” prior to the show. This means winning in the top four categories of Best New Artist and Album, Song, and Record of the Year.

Rodrigo won Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Despite being nominated in the top four awards, she lost to Jon Batiste for Album of the Year and Silk Sonic for Song and Record of the Year.

Olivia also trended during the show after sharing a moment with BTS.

During the K-pop boy band’s performance, she “flirted” with member V, who whispered something to her. Whatever it was, Rodrigo reacted with a jaw drop.

BTS received their second Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category but lost to Doja Cat and SZA.
