The beloved fashion designer has been in the business for over 30 years, he passed on the evening of March 26.
Nothing makes reality tougher to bear when someone dear in your life is affected by, what seemed to be, just news from afar. A veteran in bridal design, as well as Filipiniana style with a creative eye and opulent flair, Ito Curata was always a standout. So, it is with a heavy heart to learn that Ito was confined in ICU at the Asian Hospital due to pneumonia complications brought about by COVID-19, and after a week of treatment he succumbed to his illness earlier this evening.
He lives on through his son, Taj, and his husband, Bob Miller, who is still in ICU from pneumonia and we pray for his recovery.
We will remember Ito Curata for his well-meaning presence and indefatigable spirit, always ready with a warm smile at social gatherings and functions he was part of. Through his art and life’s milestones, his legacy lives on for us to forever be inspired by. He will truly be missed.
These are tense times and we advice everyone to stay indoors as much as possible and be extremely mindful of hygiene.
