Every Room is a Penthouse: The World's First Space Hotel to Open in 2027 - Travel

Construction starts in 2026.

Multiple space travel projects are already underway. Logically, building an out-of-this-world getaway for “overnight” stays is the next step in extraterrestrial tourism.

This is why Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC) will start construction of the Voyager Station in 2026. By the following year, the station could become the first commercial space hotel in operation.

The Voyager Station will include habitation and activity modules, access tubes and couplings, elevators, a docking hub, and lifeboats (emergency return vehicles).

Altogether, it will contain over 11,600 square meters of habitable space. The station’s design simulates a sixth of Earth’s gravity to make daily processes possible.

Different purposes from research and villas, to a restaurant and an event center will occupy the 24 habitation modules.

Once complete, the Voyager Station will be the largest man-made structure in space.

Life simulation

Guests will be able to book luxury suites for a week or rent these for a month. Alternatively, they would even be able to purchase these as a vacation home.

Luxury villa

These are unlike historical space trips that provided the bare minimum of accommodations like vacuums for toilets and wall-strapped bags for beds. The OAC touts staying at the Voyager as comparable to life on Earth.

“Voyager Station will leverage the technologies of Space and the comforts of Earth to create a unique experience unparalleled in history.  Simulated gravity will offer amenities like toilet facilities, showers, and beds that function. Similar to what you are used to on Earth,” reads a post on the Voyager website.
