The company hailed best at the Asia Leaders Awards 2020.

Communication is more important now more than ever to keep in touch with our loved ones who are spending quarantine in other places, to stay updated on the latest news about the pandemic, and to be able to work and study from home efficiently. With this, Eastern Communications, one of the leading telecommunications providers in the country, was awarded Telco of the Year at the recently concluded Asia Leaders Awards at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The Telco of the Year award seeks to identify and celebrate innovative telecommunication companies and their inspiring leaders who have excelled in the field of network technologies, operations, new implementations, innovative products, and services. The award also aims to recognize and showcase the best telecom products, apps, services, technologies, and initiatives in Asia.

In recent months, Eastern Communications rolled out different initiatives to support Filipinos during the pandemic. This includes its holistic COVID-19 response, “Safe and Strong at Home,” that aims at helping frontliners, employees, clients, and individuals to be safe and stay informed. Eastern Communications also answered the needs of Filipinos in the new normal phase which requires digital tools for continued work productivity. The provider featured its relevant products which include Eastern Cloud, Office 365, and its recently introduced Eastern Home—a reliable home internet fit for work from home operations. 

Another remarkable effort is the installation of 34 MNLKonek digital kiosks along España Boulevard in partnership with the City Government of Manila, and the launch of “One Day in the Philippines,” a magazine issue featuring a diverse range of stories from around the country in partnership with GRID Magazine.

Eastern Communications showcased excellent internal initiatives as well to empower employees during this time, which also gave them the Best Employer Brand Award at the recent Philippines Best Employer Brand Awards 2020. 

The year proved fruitful for Eastern Communications as they stepped in to provide solutions and answers in a time of need, making them all the more deserving of the recognition. We can only imagine how they will exceed our expectations in the coming year.
