Eastern Communications Wins Big at Stevie Awards 2020 - Lifestyle Asia

The telecommunications company bagged back-to-back wins in three of the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards held last year.

Last December 2020, Eastern Communications gained recognition for its commendable efforts highlighting its High Tech and High Touch promise which were utilized widely from customer service campaigns to COVID-19 response initiatives. The telco company took home Silver and Bronze awards in the seventh annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in Singapore—the only business awards program to recognize innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. 

Five wins at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards

Presenting its latest innovations, Eastern Communications won two Silver Stevie Awards for Innovation in Business-to-Business Products (New Product) Category for their Eastern Cloud solutions, and Innovation in Technology Development Category for their Via Eastern expansion campaign.

The telco also won three Bronze Stevie Awards for Innovation in Business-to-Business Events Category for their Link VIP Club Anniversary Event; Innovation in Customer Service Management, Planning & Practice Category for industry-based forums Link 101, Cutting Edge, and Huddle; and for Innovation in Community Relations or Public Service Communications Category for their CSR initiatives with Humanility, Alay Tanim, and Lingkod Dunong. 

COVID-19 initiatives recognized globally 

Not long after their win at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, the company was awarded a Silver and two Bronze Stevie Awards at the 2020 International Business Awards (IBA). 

Showcasing its holistic COVID-19 response, Eastern Communications also won a Silver Stevie Award for the entry “Helping the Nation’s Battle with Our Strong Connection” under Most Valuable Corporate Response. 

The company also received two Bronze Stevie Awards for the entries “Connected: Eastern Communications’ #SafeAndStrongAtHome social media initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic” under Best Use of Social Media—COVID-19 related; and “Nurturing Eastern Communications’ Employee Welfare” under Most Exemplary Employer.

Eastern Communications rolled out its COVID-19 response, providing overall support to the public, businesses, employees, government, and frontliners through extending their innovative services and other forms of assistance. This includes pledging of Office 365 license to several government offices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) donations to hospitals, financial support for the COVID-19-related causes of partner associations and private sectors, and engaging employee campaigns among others.

Eastern women leaders reign supreme

Women Leaders of Eastern Communications also received recognition from the Stevie Awards Women in Business. Co-Coordinators Atty. Aileen Regio and Hermi Hizon showcased outstanding leadership skills as Eastern Communications rolled out its COVID-19 response. For this, they won a Bronze Award for Most Valuable Corporate Response at The Stevie Awards for Women in Business for leading the telco’s COVID-19 initiatives. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honors women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run worldwide.
