It will headline a lineup of over 1,000 collectibles and memorabilia from celebrities in the auction event Music Icons to be held live at Hard Rock Cafe in New York and online at JuliensAuctions.com from May 20 to 22.

The “Material Girl” attire took inspiration from Marilyn Monroe in the Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend sequence from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

The auction house’s lot includes the pink satin dress with bustier top, oversized bow, opera gloves, and rhinestone bracelets.

Altogether, the lot is projected to sell for between $100,000 to $200,000.

“It’s one of the most historic and iconic pieces of Madonna… very few items that are this iconic of hers are in the public domain,” Julien’s Auctions founder and chief executive officer Darren Julien said.

The dress was originally made for the television movie Norma Jean. It was only rented from the Palace Costume and Prop Company for Madonna’s use in her music video.

Julien’s Auctions has previously sold items from Madonna’s career.

These include the hot pink charmeuse silk headband with bow embellishment also from the “Material Girl” music video ($28,125), ivory satin halter gown in the Vogue music video ($179,200), and the singer’s MTV VMA Moonman Award for Best Female Video for “Papa Don’t Preach” ($22,400).

Other music artists whose secondhand items will be auctioned include Axl Rose, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Mick Jagger, and Eddie Van Halen.
