The Crown announced its November 9 season premiere during Netflix’s annual Tudum fan event.

Plot

The fifth season explores the breakdown of the marriage between the Prince and the Princess of Wales, Charles and Diana.

Previously, Diana and Charles began The Crown‘s fourth season as newlyweds and ended it “increasingly at odds and searching for meaning as a new decade dawns.”

Cast

The new cast features Imelda Staunton (Queen Elizabeth II), Dominic West (Prince Charles), Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana), Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip), Lesley Manville (Princess Margaret), Claudia Harrison (Princess Anne), and Olivia Williams (Camilla Parker Bowles).
