From Narisawa in Tokyo to Arzak in Spain, Come Together: The World’s Finest Chefs compiles over a hundred recipes from 84 renowned chefs all over the world.

Written and compiled by award-winning food writer, Flavel Monteiro, Come Together serves as a beacon of culinary hope, showcasing the talents the world over amidst the crisis the restaurant industry has met during the COVID-19 pandemic. The digital (and free) cookbook acts as a symbolic bridge for chefs and restaurants to those isolated at home and craving their delectable creations.

In his introduction to the book, Monteiro shares that he was inspired to work on the cookbook when he realized how much of an impact the pandemic has caused on the world and especially the deep repercussions it has done on the dining industry. In opening his massive culinary compilation, he states, “I was inspired to find a way for all of us to join together in solidarity with those on the front lines of this battle, and connect as one in celebration of something that we can share—great food!” He ends the introduction thanking all the chefs that collaborated with him on this project, the editorial team that assisted him remotely. “I’d also like to thank those who doubted my ability to get this done—it kept gas in my tank!”

With 340 pages, it definitely is massive despite being an e-book, maximizing the use of every page, featuring “84 of the world’s finest chefs from 6 continents, 31 countries, with over 50 Michelin stars, representing some of the best restaurants from Brazil to Australia.” The recipes jump from region to region providing a diverse gastronomic journey from every turn of the digital page. Introductions of each chef provide a brief but meaningful background into their style and the recipes that they’ve contributed to the book.
