To celebrate the remarkable life of Perriand, Aesop created their fourth fragrance, Rōzu Eau du Parfum. The bold yet delicate scent pays homage to Perriand’s work, embodying her inspiring vision and her passion for the natural world.

Her Legacy
A significant figure in Modern design, Charlotte Perriand is well-known for her iconic designs like Chaise longue basculante B 306, and architectural projects like Les Arcs, a ski resort in the French Alps. It is no surprise she designed such stunning works as she has always loved the wild outdoors. Her time in Japan as an advisor on craft exports heavily influenced her works. Surrounded by local materials like bamboo, woven straws, and lacquer, she crafted these into designs that reflect the culture and aesthetics of Japan. This experience brought her to fuse both her Western origin and Asian sensibilities.

An Unconventional Floral
Taking inspiration from Perriand’s wonderful life and work, Aesop collaborated with Barnabé Fillion to blend Rōzu Eau du Parfum. While its fragrance is floral, it is both tender and intense, appealing to all genders. Opening the bottle takes you to the exquisite notes of Rose, Petitgrain Bergamot, and Shiso. This rich floral scent recalls the affection of Perriand for Japan and the Wabara garden rose created in her name. The heart of the fragrance takes you to the notes of Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, and light Guaiacwood. At its base is the green citrus elements and earthy notes of Vetiver with sweet Patchouli and Myrrh, reflecting the woody scent present in traditional men’s cologne.
Rōzu Eau du Parfum rightly follows its similarly genderless forerunners Marrakech Intense, Tacit, and Hwyl. This multi-dimensional take on the rose fragrance is truly remarkable–embodying Perriand’s legacy and appealing to any and all genders.
