C’est La Vie: Development Corporation VCDC Launches Their Luxurious New Property Through a Daytime 'House Party' - The Scene

“You’re not really investing in a house; you’re really investing in your future. You’re not exactly building a structure; what you’re doing is building a family—this is what the brand is about, this is where we stand.”

Last November 27, Victor Consunji successfully launched luxury home development Vie by his corporation VCDC. On the day, VIP guests, media members, prospective homebuyers, and development partners enjoyed a day of food, drinks, and music inside a showroom in its compound in Laguna, reminiscent of a refined house party.

About the name of his new development, Consunji says in his speech, “Vie, aside from the obvious, also means life. And I think that’s very apt because considering the pandemic, everything we’ve been through in the past few years, considering the paradigm shift in lifestyle that we’ve all experienced, life goes on. And we’ve all had to adjust.”

He adds that during the pandemic, he’s realized that VCDC is “actually not in the business of building houses and making developments.” Instead, the 42-year old says he recognized that their work is “about building a life,” and the houses are a byproduct of this.

Outside the city

Vie at Southern Plains is a contemporary village that aims to provide families and individuals a “liberation” from crowded cities by building homes with nature and space in mind. Located in Laguna, it’s 90 kilometers south of Metro Manila. The “urban-rural” setting provides an unobstructed view of Mt. Makiling, while design elements include high-ceilings and modular architecture.

As villas have configurations choices to choose from and its developers can provide interior design services and suppliers for appliances, Lana Johnson, VCDC marketing director, jokes that all you have to do is move in your clothes.

On the topic of more simple but still luxurious development, Consunji says, “you’re not really investing in a house; you’re really investing in your future. You’re not exactly building a structure; what you’re doing is building a family—this is what the brand is about, this is where we stand.”

Eco-friendly

Given Vie’s architecture, the VCDC says they’re establishing an ethos of embracing eco-friendly resources with its minimality. They consider the use of lesser materials a way to decrease the carbon footprint during construction and throughout continuous habitation.

Johnson shares that clients can also avail themselves of solar energy utilization and home automation systems. “We’re trying to be socially responsible one house at a time,” she continues.

Vie at Southern Plains also features two parks (one for kids and the other for fitness), swimming pools, and three clubhouses for hosting functions.

Considering all the property’s features, designs, and services, “moving forward, what we intend to do is to be like a critical part of your lifestyle, to make it as easy and appealing as possible—we hope to make your lives better,” Consunji shares.
