2 Become 1: The Wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz - Weddings

Stop right now, here’s what you need to know about this loving celebration.

In 1999, a major celebrity wedding took place in a castle in Ireland. This lavish event became the template for all big-name weddings. The guest of honor was a baby boy named Brooklyn, aged just four months at the time.

Twenty-three years that baby grew up to be Brooklyn Beckham, and on April 11, he married Nicola Peltz. The groom is the son of one of England’s most famed football players, David Beckham, and his wife, Victoria Beckham, first known as a member of the Spice Girls and now an established and highly sought-after fashion designer. The bride is the daughter of American billionaire (with a net worth of $1.7B) and businessman Nelson Peltz, and model Claudia Heffner.

The couple dated for two years before the wedding took place at an oceanfront Palm Beach Estate owned by Peltz’s family. Wedding coordinator Michelle Rago, whose suburb sense of design and logistical know-how has earned her the accolade of being one of the world’s most desired wedding planners, was in charge of the celebrations.

Under the masterful eye of wedding designer Rishi Patel and HMR Designs, guests were treated to a cornucopia of blooms: from white cherry blossoms to garden roses overlaid with peonies, white ranunculus, spray roses, and hydrangeas. It was a veritable feast for the eyes.

Peltz wore a Maison Valentino ivory gown customized with lace details, designed by Pier Paolo Piccioli and styled by Leslie Fremar. Sewn into the dress was a message from the bride’s mother (who wore custom Versace) along with an evil eye as a talisman for good luck.

Kate Lee did the makeup while Adir Abergel took care of her hair. On Instagram, Abergel shared that he cried as he put Peltz’s veil in place (he also gave her Claudia Schiffer 90s-era bangs 90-minutes before the ceremony). Tom Bachik custom blended a shade of 90s Supermodel for the bride’s manicure.

Meanwhile, Beckham was dressed in Dior, personally outfitted by Kim Jones himself. It would be remiss not to mention what his parents were wearing: all the men in the Beckham family were in Dior suits, while the mother-of-the-groom wore a couture gown from who else: her brand.

On Instagram, Posh Spice said that the gown’s bespoke fabric, which gave off a liquid metal effect, was developed in Italy. The lace was three different pieces layered together to create something new and hand embroidered. All in all, the entire dress took five days to create at her London atelier.

Guests at the fête included Venus and Serena Williams, Eva Longoria (also dressed in Victoria Beckham), Gordon Ramsay, Rashida Jones, Kiernan Shipka, along with filmmakers Michael Bay and M Night Shyamalan.

Two of the Spices were present: Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) and Melanie Brown (Scary). Emma Bunton (Baby) posted a lovely message on Instagram, apologizing for her absence, and jokingly told the groom’s parents not to cry too much.

The bride walked down the aisle with her father, to the voice of UK singer Sekou, singing “Songbird,” accompanied by a string orchestra. Sister-in-law Harper was a flower girl.

When dinner, masterminded by Thierry Isambert Culinary and Event Design, was over, the newlyweds had their first dance to “Only Fools Rush In”, performed by rising South African artist Lloyiso. The crowd laughed at the speeches by the groom’s best men, his brothers Romero and Cruz, while father David delivered an emotional speech.

On Instagram, he said: “Congratulations Bust on a lifetime of happiness, we will always be by your side,” referring to the groom’s childhood nickname. Fans could not believe that the eldest Beckham son was now a married man, with many a comment noting that they remembered waiting for his mother to give birth all those years ago.

Instead of gifts, the newlyweds asked guests to make donations to humanitarian agency Care to provide aid for those in urgent need in Ukraine.
