Dr. Z Teo grinds his teeth at night when he sleeps. It was a concern that he sought to remedy by injecting botulinum toxin type A, widely known as Botox. The neurotoxic protein disables the involuntary and forceful contractions of the muscles that provoke clenched jaws and teeth grinding. Results in Two Days
Xeomin is manufactured by Merz Pharmaceuticals in Germany. The injectable is processed to isolate therapeutic components of the molecule. Complex proteins that can cause the body to create neutralizing antibodies are removed to create a highly purified neurotoxin.
When the highly concentrated formulation is injected into the facial muscle, lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced by the second day post treatment. The results last between three to four months. The probability of developing resistance to Xeomin is addressed with the elimination of the complex proteins that do not contribute to the treatment.
