A Japanese favorite enters the market

Japanese luxury skincare brand Clé de Peau Beauté (or “the key to skin’s beauty”) has finally arrived in the Philippines. Since launching in 1982, it has expanded to over 2,600 stores in 19 markets. Its entry into Manila came by way of Galerie Clé de Peau Beauté, a pop-up concept in Greenbelt 5, Makati.

The company has come to be known for their belief that skin is “smart,” and responds well to good, science-backed stimuli. This philosophy is expressed through bestsellers like La Crème, The Serum. A boutique, set to open in the middle of this year, will offer the brand’s full range of products and facial services.

New scents for a small-batch brand

Daily Bar was launched in 2016 by Apple Albano, who got into soap-making as a form of therapy. “The passion to be well was also brought about by my skin sensitivity which was eventually passed on to my two daughters,” she says. After starting out with plant-based soaps, it has since expanded into body washes, massage oils, balms and loungewear.

Last month, it launched two new scents for its Hand and Body Wash: Elemi + Rosemary and Calamansi + Lemongrass. The former is infused with elemi oil, which lends skin rejuvenating benefits while the latter’s citrusy blend is meant to awaken and balance the senses and enhance skin texture and suppleness.
