Brooks Brothers, the celebrated brand established by Henry Sands Brooks in 1818, recently celebrated their 200th anniversary with a fashion show at the famous Salone dei Cinquecento at Palazzo Vecchio. Paying tribute to their founder, the man who first offered ready-to-wear clothing to the public, the fashion presentation showed modern interpretations of Brook’s iconic products. This included seersucker, madras, argyle, the non-iron shirt, and the original button-down collar. “Youthful and cool but with many classic elements the collection illustrates how relevant these items, some invented over 100 years ago, still resonate,” said the brand in a statement.

In line of this week’s Beauty Break (and the sudden outpour of rain—yes, it is officially the rainy season), we decided to give you a sneak peek of the brand’s anniversary collection. 45 men’s looks and 7 women’s looks walked down the runway to an arrangement of contemporary music played by the Italian Philharmonic. The men’s looks in particular, are Rainy Season goals. Sleek suits, tucked trousers, outerwear, polo coats, sports blazers, rep strip ties worn like a belt, knit sweaters and trench coats, all pay tribute to Henry Sands Brook’s sartorial genius. An influencer of his time (in fact he was not a traditionalist at all, many peers looked to him for the updated fashions), he passed on the business to his sons Elisha, Daniel, Edward and John, hence the name, Brooks Brothers.
