Be Part of the Apollo 11 Legacy with Limited Edition OMEGA Speedmaster

Time is essential to man as we plan our days around it. It is also a luxury we can give to our loved ones. This is why it is only fitting to keep track of it within an equally beautiful and deluxe wristwatch like the OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition.

Whether as a gift or an addition to your collection, OMEGA’s limited edition wristwatch is an item to be treasured.

OMEGA On the Moon

OMEGA is a brand that recognizes the value of time. When the Apollo 11 mission is on its way to execution, NASA requested watch manufacturers to develop timepieces that would survive in space exploration. Only OMEGA survived the tests. The wristwatch was called Speedmaster BA145.022.

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first to leave a footprint on the lunar surface while wearing OMEGA’s masterpiece. It was considered “Flight Qualified for all Manned Space Missions” in 1965. Crafted from 18K yellow gold with rare burgundy bezel, the wristwatch was OMEGA’s first commemorative edition with only 1,014 models. Each had an inscription, “to mark man’s conquest of space with time, through time, and on time.” From the day it became part of space heritage, it was highly sought-after by both old and new Speedmaster fans.

To the Moon-Landing Heroes

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original wristwatch, OMEGA produced a rendition. It is made in only 1,014 pieces with a five-year warranty. The new masterpiece follows the first design but the 2019 version carries Moonshine™ gold to resist color-fading and losing luster over time.

The case and bracelet follow after the 4th generation Speedmaster’s asymmetrical case band and the five-arched-links-per-row design. The watch remains true to the 1969 timepiece with the burgundy bezel ring in ceramic. Its new feature is the marker dot above 90 tachymeter scale. The black onyx indexes of the hour-markers and black varnished hour-minute hands truly make for handsome details in this piece.

The Speedmaster watch includes vintage logos throughout the design. The engraved markings on its case back add a wistful element to it: “1969-2019”, “Apollo 11-50th Anniversary”, and “The First Watch Worn on the Moon.” These are accentuated by the matte-finish black background.

To immortalize one of the greatest moments in space history, OMEGA delicately set a domed lunar meteorite inlay to represent the moon. This fine detail completes the rarity and luxury of the OMEGA Speedmaster limited edition timepiece.
