How to practice kindness towards others, the environment, and first and foremost, yourself, to improve mental wellbeing, create healthy relationships, and protect nature for the future of our children.

World Kindness Day happens on November 13 which was established by the World Kindness Movement in 1997. In an Instagram post, the organization declared yesterday: “Today is World Kindness Day, a day created by The World Kindness Movement to serve as a gentle reminder of the importance of the Value of Kindness as a Giver, Receiver and Observer for Ourselves , Others and the Planet.”

Their website states that: “Our kindness inspires and helps our world in so many ways from improving our mental health, our environment and encouraging governments around the world to support World Kindness Day.”

In addition, the website also shares, “Our kindness matters when it is: To Yourself to protect your mental health and emotional wellbeing; To Others to create amazing relationships; To Nature to help protect our environment for the future of our children.”

They invite everyone to participate in their mission with UNESCO’s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development’s mission to reach 1,000,000 kindness stories. This will help establish World Kindness Day as a United Nations recognized day. You can share your kindness story here to participate in this worthwhile mission.

The organization also invites all to their #OneVoiceForKindess campaign by adding your kindness story to the Kindness Jar to inspire and be inspired by these stories of kindness.
