Auspicious Cuisine: Hilton Manila welcomes the Year of the Water Tiger with Shanghainese Favorites - LA Wine & Dine

The hotel’s Hua Yuan is offering signature set menus in time for CNY.

Hilton Manila is celebrating the auspicious Chinese New Year of the Water Tiger with a curation of Shanghainese fare and festivities. This is highlighted by luxury gift hampers, Handcrafted Nian Gao, and Signature Set Menus available for dine-in and takeaway.

“We are elated to welcome the Chinese New Year with our esteemed guests and wish everyone good health, prosperity and peace as we continue to recover from the global pandemic,” says Simon McGrath, hotel general manager. “We hope that the Lunar New Year brings loved ones closer together in celebration of our faith, courage and optimism.”

Hua Yuan, the hotel’s Shanghainese restaurant headed by Chef Kevin Xu, indulges diners with signature set menus: Prosperity and Premium Prosperity, both made from seasonal Chinese ingredients.

Highlights include the colorful Yee Sang, Dim sum basket, Wok-fried giant prawns with crabmeat sauce, Chinese New Year Seafood pot, and Koi fish and golden coin jelly with bird’s nest, peach gum and coconut cream, among others. Hua Yuan’s Chinese New Year Signature Set Menu offerings start at P11,888 and good for four diners.

Patrons are also invited to share the abundance of the season with luxe hampers and the traditional Nian Gao.

The Premium Prosperity Hamper includes favorites Braised pork knuckles, Braised sliced abalone, Hua Yuan XO sauce, Misua, Pineapple shortcake, Egg rolls, Sunflower seeds, Signature chocolates, dried mushrooms, and a bottle of wine; priced at P6,288. The hotel also offers a Prosperity Hamper at Php 5,888 with the Koi Fish Nian Gao available separately at P1,288.

Hilton Manila observes stringent health and safety measures in line with local Government guidelines and Hilton’s own CleanStay initiative including holding a Department of Tourism “Safety Seal.”
