On December 1, MMI Live continues its series on “Leaders Inspiring Leaders” with a virtual event featuring the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak.

While the pandemic remains a threat to everyone’s safety, people have been forced to heavily rely on technology. From connecting with loved ones to shifting to digital means for businesses, innovation turned into a top priority in these times. Calibrating to recent changes is a challenge, but it is essential to survive especially in the current business landscape. Steve Wozniak, together with Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu and Filipino Entrepreneurs and Resources Network International President and CEO Tommanny Tan will speak about the future of technology for Filipinos in a virtual event.

A leading innovator

A Silicon Valley icon and an entrepreneur, Steve Wozniak brought the realm of technology to greater heights when he co-founded Apple Computer, Inc. with Steve Jobs in 1976. He designed the first line of Apple products, including the Macintosh. In-between developing personal computers, he managed to finish his degree in electrical engineering and computer science at UC Berkeley. As one of America’s leading innovators, he received the National Medal of Technology, granted from then-President Ronald Reagen in 1985.

Beyond innovations in Apple, Steve poured his ideas and heart for philanthropy into building Unuson or “Unite Us in Song.” These two festivals or expositions celebrate technology and unity among music, people, computers, and television. Steve also co-founded Woz U and adopted the Los Gatos School District where students and teachers can learn and experience state-of-the-art technology equipment.
