A woman looks over the wide expanse of a pink-walled city, standing in quiet repose as she reflects and escapes the rush of her daily life. With time to herself, she is relaxed and confident, at peace with herself, and blessed with a gaze that is both serene yet intense. Her hair is flowing gently with the breeze, and she is dressed in an Elie Saab Haute Couture dress. Her scent? Elie Saab’s Orange Blossom and Patchouli.
Nine years ago, Francis Kurkdijan was the nose behind Elie Saab’s Le Parfum, the Lebanese haute couture brand’s first foray into the world of scents. This year, the brand returns with Orange Blossom and Patchouli, reinterpreted by Maïa Lernout as a new look on the original release, based on Saab’s desire to return to the essentials.
This resplendent white floral chypre is made of fresh, sparkling mandarin on the top notes, radiant like a bright sun shining effervescently on the hazy pink walls of a dreamed-about city. Precious neroli essence is delicate, like the unforgettable embroidery on an Elie Saab haute couture dress.
The dazzling light of this opening accord introduces a creamy white gardenia in full bloom, expressing femininity with a powdery, velvety scent that is both soft and heady. The base note to this womanly composition is a pure essence of cedarwood, reflecting the true Elie Saab woman, who is an expression of her own true self.
Orange Blossom and Patchouli joins the signature line of scents including the original Le Parfum EDP, which is a sophisticated blend of Orange Blossom and Jasmine with sweet Rose and Patchouli, Le Parfum in white, a romantic and fruity floral with a touch of Blackcurrant and a radiant white bouquet in a sheer base of White Musk, Le Parfum Royal, a regal amber that unveils two faces of the Queens of flowers, the Turkish Rose and Bulgarian Rose, blended with Amber and Vanilla for a long-lasting throw.
The scent is housed in a bottle of transparent glass with the brand’s seal in Le Parfum’s iconic faceted bottle, which showcases the tender pink hue of the scent, and expresses the feminine delicacy of the new introduction to the house.
ELIE SAAB’s Orange Blossom and Patchouli is available at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza and rustans.com
