The Watch That Was Meant for Diamonds: Omega Launches the Latest Trésor Collection in Berlin, Germany
May 4, 2018
Omega launched the latest Trésor collection in Berlin, Germany with Kaia Gerber, the newest brand ambassador of the luxury watch company. The latest Omega watches were designed with thin cases and a contemporary look to respond to a new generation of women.
Cindy and Kaia
Rising fashion star Kaia Gerber is the daughter of Rande Gerber and supermodel Cindy Crawford, who has been a brand ambassador of Omega for more than 20 years. Kaia and her brother Presley were presented last year as the newest members of the Omega family. Cindy will continue to be among the faces of Omega together with George Clooney, Nicole Kidman and James Bond, said Omega President Raynald Aeschlimann during an informal tete-a-tete at the Soho House in Berlin. The invitation to Kaia to join the roster of brand ambassadors is a recognition of another generation that Omega is reaching out to. “It’s important that she’s been in the family,” Mr. Aeschlimann said. “Omega was already there when she was born. Her mother was the first influencer in the fashion world even before social media. Now Kaia is one of them and she shares our value. It’s about sharing our values with a new generation.”
The energetic CEO of Omega continued. “We never said we’ll never have Cindy or Nicole Kidman. Omega is about long relationships.”
Trésor Means Treasure
Omega first used Trésor in 1949 for a De Ville Watch to describe the precise movement within. The De Ville had an extraordinary caliber encased in understated gold. The newly launched Trèsor brings together the heritage of that mechanical movement together with a classic look for a timeless appeal. The collection was created from scratch, a new watch with a contemporary look. It is designed with a thin case and available in 36mm and 39mm. The watches come with either a leather strap in a variety of colours or in a fabric strap.
Two rivers of diamond pave border the curves of the Trèsor, each meticulously selected to define the signature of this Omega Collection. A solitary diamond is set on the crown. The lustrous gleam of the crown is the result of red Hycream polishing, a design material with composite content of 65% to 85% ceramic and three dimensionally crossed polymers. Complimenting the thin case are slim hands that point to the transferred of embossed Roman numerals.

Every Omega Trèsor watch has a specially designed mirrored caseback with “Her Time.” The feature is not just a useful accessory but a resonance of the women who inspire the Trèsor. Omega intended the design feature as a reflection of the natural charisma within each woman. The Omega calibre 4061 sits behind this caseback.
Mirror was the password to gain entry into the launch party held at the Kraftwerk Berlin, the power plant built around the same time as the Berlin Wall that is now used for events and exhibitions. The industrial space was transformed into a surreal wonderland with vignettes recreating fairytales set against raw concrete interiors. Thousands of candles flickered in dark spaces and chandeliers dropped over a table laden with sugar dreams. Somewhere, a woman sang to her image in multiple mirrors while another moved around a tree of black birds. A ballerina danced in celestial brightness and a few meters away, a woman was perpetually winding clocks. The phantasmagoric sceneries were enfolded in a haze punctuated by light. It was a sensory experience of mirrors, music and magic. It was the debut of the Omega Trèsor and partying was the best way to welcome the collection for the new generation.
